Some experience with Rigging
In terms of programs, I have done animation, modeling, lighting, rigging, texturing, and some Python coding in Maya. A majority of my modeling work is done in ZBrush and I greatly prefer the freedom it gives for such things over Maya when it comes to organic forms. I use Photoshop for illustration, textures, and photo-manipulation. I haven't used Flash in some time, but I am comfortable with the concept and would enjoy learning newer versions if it was required. I have recently been teaching myself how to animate in 3DS Max for a large project.
I am a graduate of Cogswell Polytechnical College as of May 2014. I earned a B.A in 3D Modeling in which I also included 3D Animation experience. My goal has always been to bring the ideas of myself and others to life in the physical world through art. My artistic interests are towards a darker aesthetic but I always enjoy the occasional break to something lighter and make a habit of learning to switch between many styles for flexibility in my art. If I was asked the classic question of "Gears of War or My Little Pony," for my art style, I could happily do both. I was inspired to enter this industry after learning more about the making of the Halo series and from Flash animations on Newgrounds.com.
I've lived all over California throughout my life, at the SoCal beaches, in Silicon Valley, and in the High Desert. I went to a para- military high school and was chosen as leader of their Honor Guard and also Class Sergeant, the highest rank, and was responsible for the conduct of all students and for marching and leading their formation. I continued growing this leadership ability when I came to Cogswell by joining the ASB and becoming Vice President and a Resident Assistant for student housing. I was a part of Cogswell's Project X, which imitates real- life pipeline experiences and group work, as an Animator for their short film Driven.
Previously I worked for the school as a High School Outreach Specialist doing presentations about the college at high schools all across the Bay Area. Since I have experience working in many different parts of an industry-based pipeline, I guided interested students into what area suits them best, along with providing them information such as what tools to use, what skill sets to strengthen and occasionally reviewed portfolios. I found it extremely enjoyable to help inspire these students towards something I also love and give them information to succeed that I did not have access to at their age.
Currently I am freelancing, and keeping myself busy with personal projects, commissions, and animating for the game project Ambient: Prologue .
Outside of my art I am interested in reading science fiction, video games, dirt biking, psychology, fashion, and animals and animal rescue work.
